Dr. Za’faran Hassan is a Professor at the Center for Post Graduate and Professional Studies, Faculty of Business Management, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia. She graduated from Idaho State University, U.S.A. in 1980 with a BBA in Business; graduated from Saint Louis University, Missouri, U.S.A., in 1982 with an MBA in Organization and Management; and graduated from The Malaysian National University in 1998 with a Doctorate in Business Administration, majoring in Organization Management and Marketing. Her academic administrative experience includes being the University’s Head of Management, Human Resource Management and International Business Department, Dean of the Hotel and Tourism Management Faculty, Director for Business Development, Director for the Institute of Malay Studies and Leadership and as Head of the Malaysian Entrepreneurship Development Center. She currently lectures, supervisors post graduate students and examines doctoral and masters students’ theses as well as conduct professional training for the industry. She is a Member of the Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM), Associate Member of the Center for Regional Research (School of Commerce, University of Wollonggong, Australia), Malaysian Society for Training and Development (MSTD), Academy of International Business (AIB), the Asian Productivity Organization (APO)’s panel of expertise on SME development as well as the Malaysian Productivity’s Hospitality Industry Panel of Expertise. Her research interests include Strategic Management, SMEs, Entrepreneurship, Supply Chain Management, Marketing and Quality management. She has published books, contributed book chapters and published in the Journal of Management (UK), International Journal of Business and Development Studies, International Journal of Arts & Sciences, Business & Management Quarterly Review, Science Direct, ELSEVIER Procedia Social and Behavioral Science, International Journal of Management (IAEME), Asian Journal of Business Management (AJBM), Journal of Economics, Business and Management (JOEBM), Journal of Productivity, Student Affairs Journal, Journal of Business Management and The Malaysian Journal of Quality.
